The Mysteries of Ancient Nubia

This is a lesser-known civilization, as it is often overshadowed by Egypt. However, Nubia was just as mysterious and glorious as ancient Egypt. This program draws a curous crowd, people who want to know what exactly Nubia was. For the first Nubia program, one parent even did presearch because she simply wanted to know why this lesser-known civilization was part of the series. Because Nubia was closely linked to Egypt, there are some familiar terms and artifacts. Junior Archaeologists learn about the gods and goddesses, the clothing, the board game Mancala, the 25th Dynasty of Pharaohs, the difference in architecture between Egypt and Nubia, and Meroitic script. Bonus Activities include writing their names in Meroitic, painting Nubian pottery, and making Nubian jewelry.
